Dr. Terra Sowinski, ND

Dr. Terra received her B.S. from Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA, where she double majored in biology and exercise science. This is where her love for a healthy lifestyle truly blossomed. As a collegiate gymnast Dr. Terra knew that maintaining a healthy body started with nutrition and proper exercise. This easily led her to the field of Naturopathic medicine and an improved understanding of optimal health.

Dr. Terra is an eclectic Naturopathic physician, meaning she uses a variety of natural methods, custom prescribed to fit the needs of each patient. These healing modalities include dietary and nutritional counseling; herbal medicines; homeopathic remedies; flower essences; and physical medicine techniques including Applied Kinesiology. Currently her area of study is the female hormone system and how to manage the many changes it goes through in life, from puberty to menopause and beyond.

Dr. Terra has also attained her certificate in natural childbirth. This additional training will allow her to obtain her midwifery license in the state of Washington and attend home deliveries as the primary birth attendant. She will be accepting midwifery patients in late summer of 2009. Until that time, she is available to assist pregnant and post-partum women and their infants with all of their natural family healthcare needs.

Dr. Terra is a native of Kent and Grapeview, Washington, having spent most of her summers in the Grapeview area where she feels most at home. When she is not providing primary care for her patients Dr. Terra enjoys getting outside, kayaking in case inlet, hiking among the beautiful trees, and breathing the fresh air. She is excited to again be here and able to help her community grow healthy.
